Luton Town have officially appointed Matt Bloomfield as the new manager after recently sacking former boss Rob Edwards after a very dissapointing season back in the championship with the hatters currently sat 2 points above the relegation zone. Luton Town have struggled a lot this season in their return back to the championship after being relegated from the premier league the previous season with a lot of key and important players who left the club such as Ross Barkley , Chiedozie Ogbene and Gabriel Osho who have been tough to replace . Although Luton did sign players, one of them being a premier league winner and former chelsea player victor moses results haven’t been convincing enough this season with the hatters struggling to find consistency and performances being dissapointing. Luton’s last win came on the 20th of December and hadn’t picked up a win since then and went on a 4 game losing streak before the club had made the decision to sack Rob Edwards after spending 2 years with the club and promoted them into the premier league .

Luton had shown interest in appointing Matt Bloomfield who was in charge of Wycombe wanderers as they saw him as the ideal replacement to Rob Edwards. The 40 year old manager had chose to depart from Wycombe despite them chasing for promotion to take on the role as the new head coach of Luton Town and he will sign a 3 and half year contract. Bloomfield will have a tough job on his hands as he’ll aim to quickly start racking up results to help Luton avoid relegation again into league 1 with the hatters currently sitting in 20th position.
Bloomfield had stated that ” it was a genuine honour and a privilege to take the helm at the hatters i’m incredibly proud and very very happy to be here”.
