The resident of LU3 Nunnery Lane, complained to the Luton council regarding an issue regarding an incident that took place about 5 months ago for a car accident which was brutal and have resulted in severe injuries for two passengers.

The speed bumps really have slowed down the speed of the cars approaching the roads in the area as there hadn’t been any accidents since they been applied there, however, the cars sometimes still do speed up often especially when it’s a big truck coming across. Before the neighbourhood had even thought of signing a petition to the council, another problem that the people were facing was cars hitting the ‘parked up cars’ on the sides. This damaged car mirrors and caused other car damage. This resulted in the neighbourhood taking an action – not only asking for the speed bumps but also signing a petition to place ‘CCTV’ in order to capture the cars causing this issue.

The speed bumps have taken place in the LU3 area just near Bishopscote Road, opposite the Tesco supermarket, the reason the speed bumps were applied on this road it for many reasons. However the main purpose was to maintain the safety of the neighbourhood and safety of the cars passing through, as most neighbours have also fed up with people showing off their cars with exhaust noises which disturbs a lot of the people on Nunnery Lane. The reason the speed bumps were placed in this ‘Nunnery Lane’ road related back to 2022 September to a car crash which was awful and passengers suffered several injuries.
